Don’t you have time for that? Then you better write fewer blogs and spend more time promoting your blog. Then don’t write a blog daily, but three times a week. Or do not write an article every week, but once every fourteen days, for example.

Determine the keywords:
When people search in Google, they use searches for it. For example, “how to make money online”. Have you written a strong SEO friendly article for your blog that is entirely focused on exactly this search? Then you have a good chance of getting ranking on Google. That immediately gives you a new audience.
But how do you know exactly which keywords to use for your specific blog content?
You can use these following keyword tools to research your keywords;
Change your keywords into a smart search engine marketing strategy. So you have worked hard to find the best keywords. The first step is to further analyze the keywords.
Analyze your keywords
With keyword analysis it is important that you analyze the following data:
- The number of searches
- The purchase intention
- The competition
We have already investigated how often our keywords are searched, what the buying intent is, but we do not yet know anything about the competition.
Therefore, read this article about analyzing your keywords and choose the best (and easiest) keywords.
Process your keywords in the right places
It once meant that an SEO content writer just dumped keywords in an article – but that’s no longer how the game is played today. Although it is still a good idea to include keywords in your article. Today it’s all about SEO strategy and you have to be tactical. Therefore, include keywords in the title, in the first 300 words of the text, and in the first subtitles (it is not necessary to apply everything – just make sure your keywords are in one of them). In addition, you should also try to use variations of your keyword.
Not everything on your webpage gets the same value from Google. If you ultimately want to score well in Google, process your keywords in the following places:
- The title of your page
- In your Meta description
- In the header and subtitle (H1, H2, H3)
- In the file name of your images
- In the URL of the page
- In the text

Google is increasingly looking for context. The search engine not only reads the words on a page but really understands what a text is about. This makes cheating increasingly difficult.
When SEO optimizing a blog content you need to add context with synonyms and related words. You can find Synonyms via synonyms, among others. A good source of related words is Google itself. Search on your main search term and look for related terms at the bottom of the search results page. Choose the best and incorporate them into the text. If you write them in headers, they will get some extra value.
Write Unique Content:
When you post an article, photos, videos, etc., you must ensure that this is not a copy of someone else. Apart from the fact that you can get into trouble with that person here, you will definitely get into trouble with Google. Because Google scans what someone places online whether it is indeed unique? If not then you will be punished without mercy. You will then no longer be (easily) found by visitors.

But it can be a rather difficult tactic to mix with the extensive algorithm updates from Google.
In this post, we will discuss how to optimize your blog posts for the keywords that you surround, along with some other optimization tactics that you should keep in mind.
These tips are meant to help you start improving SEO for your blog in particular.
Focus on 1-2 long-tail keywords
Optimizing your blog posts for keywords is not about inserting as many keywords as possible into your posts. Turns out that your SEO will actually do that because search engines think you have a keyword fill (that is, contain your keywords as much as possible, with the sole purpose of getting into organic search results).
But that is not cool with search engines, nor does it lead to the very good reader experience. Instead, you must use keywords in your content in a way that does not feel unnatural or forced.
A good rule of thumb is to focus on one or two keywords per blog post. This ensures that you focus on a goal for your message. While you can use more than one keyword in one post, keep the focus of the post limited enough to optimize your time that is actually optimal for just one or two keywords.
The use of long-tail keywords can, therefore, be more efficient since website visitors are looking for long-term terms that are often qualified. In other words, you enter the right type of traffic – visitors who convert – through elongated keywords.
Add these 1-2 keywords in specific parts of your blog content,
Now that you have one or two keywords, it’s time to include them in your blog posts. Where are the best parts of your posts to include these terms so that you rank high in search results?
There are four essential places where you should try to contain your keywords: headline, headers and body, URL and Meta description.
Add Keyword in Your Title
The title (that is, the headline) of your blog posts is a search engine and the reader’s first step in determining the relevance of your content, so a keyword is essential here.
Make sure you include your keyword in the first 65 characters of your headline, which is roughly where Google cuts it off on search engine results pages (SERPs).
Long title? If you have a long headline, it is a good idea to get your keyword in the beginning, since it can be cut off at the end of the SERPs, which can mean a toll on the relevance of your message.
Add Focus Keyword in Headers & Body
In normal cadence, mention your keyword through the body of your post and in the headers. That means that your keywords will be included in your copy, but only in a natural, legible way. Do not go overboard, with the risk that you will be punished for entering keywords. Before you start writing a new blog post, you’ll probably think about how you can include your keywords in your post. That is a smart idea, but it should not be your only focus, nor even your primary focus.
When creating content, your primary focus must be on what is important to your audience, not how often you can include a keyword or keyword in that content. Focus on being helpful and answer any question that your audience may have asked to arrive at your post. Do that, and you will, of course, find yourself optimally for important keywords?
In the example below, we have had a long title that went over 65 characters, so we rank it with the keyword we had projected: “blog promotion.”
Add Focus Keyword in Blog URL or Permalink
Search engines also look at your URL to find out what your message is about, and it’s one of the first things it will crawl on a page. You have a huge opportunity to optimize your URLs on every post you publish because each post lives on its own unique URL – so make sure you include your one to two keywords.
In the example below, we created the URL using the long-running keyword we were trying to rank for: “e-mail marketing examples.”
Meta Description Optimization:
To assess, a meta-description is the extra text that is displayed in SERPs with which the readers know what the link is about. The meta description gives searchers information they need to determine if your content is what they are looking for, and ultimately helps them decide whether they click or not.
In addition to reader-friendly (compelling and relevant), your Meta description must include the long-running keyword for which you want to rank. Because if weblog well, that keyword is representative of the content of your post.
Image Alt Tag Optimization:
Blog posts must not only contain text, but also images that help you explain your content. But search engines don’t just look at images. They rather look for images with alt text.
Because search engines cannot “see” the images in the same way as humans can, the text of an image in the image tells what an image is about – which ultimately helps those images to find them. Alt text also provides a better user experience because it is displayed inside the image container when an image cannot be found or displayed, and can also improve accessibility for people with poor vision who use screen readers.
Adding keywords to your alt text may seem small – and it won’t affect your search ranking as much as other things on this list.
Make smart use of internal links
Google sees links as votes and from Google, you can vote for yourself. Do that and make certain pages on your website more important. You prefer to use the most important search term for the receiving page in a link.
An example: if you refer to a page about successful blogging, place the link under the words successful blogging.
The nicest internal links are links in a running sense. These are worth much more than links in a left or right column or in the footer at the bottom of every page. Keep this in mind when you place a link and consciously refer to your ‘money pages’.
Use external links to valuable sites
The Internet exists by virtue of hyperlinks. So don’t be afraid to refer to valuable sources on the internet. With every link, you give away something of the value of your page (PageRank), but you gain it back in authority and credibility.
Ideally, refer to large sites and authorities in your industry. That way Google discovers patterns and the search engine can place you better. Linking to Wikipedia, YouTube and Government sites also always works. It makes you reliable and that is good for your ‘trust factor’.
Promote blog on all your social media channels
Don’t just promote your blog on Pinterest and in Facebook groups. But on all your relevant social media channels. Promote your blog on your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn channel. And on all other social media channels on which you are active, and which are of course relevant!
Let your followers know that you have posted a super interesting article and refer them to that article. So share the link to your blog in your social media message so that your followers can easily find this article and also share your blog article.
After you have told your audience that you have valuable content, you also ensure a clear call-to-action. Tell them what they can do next: share, like, give a comment … What action do you want people to take? Just ask for this!
Promote blog on Facebook
Post your blog in relevant Facebook groups: Facebook groups are a great promotion channel for bloggers. You will not only find like-minded people here but in some groups, you also have the opportunity to promote your blog unashamedly.
In these Facebook groups, you can place a link to your blog so that you reach more people anyway, and therefore more people read your blog. And in some Facebook groups, you can even request shares or comments for a specific blog.
This means that more people see your blog and you get more responses, likes and shares.
If you get more comments on your blog and more people click on your blog, this is a signal to Google and other search engines that it is an interesting article. Because of this, your blog will be shown earlier in the search results. This, therefore, contributes to your SEO.
Facebook groups are powerful promotion channels for your blog and you can use it every time you publish a blog. Make sure you do not spam and do not place too many links and blogs in these groups…
Please read the rules to avoid being thrown out of the group ? once you have published a blog, post it at least in 1 or 2 relevant Facebook groups.
Promote blog on Pinterest
As soon as I have published a blog, I will immediately promote my blog. One of the first things I do: pin on Pinterest. I pin the Pinterest optimized image that I add to my blog directly on Pinterest.
I recommend that you create a special board for your blog. On this Pinterest board, you only pin the images of your own blog. From there, spread the pin further on other Pinterest boards during the week to create buzz on Pinterest.
Tip: I use Tailwind to automate this distribution. With this tool, I easily plan all my pins for a whole month. So I sit down once a month and then my pins are automatically distributed, also to the relevant group board.
Then I also distribute my pins on all relevant Pinterest group boards. I do that spread over a week to create more buzz for my blog.
If you are a member of Pinterest group boards then, of course, you also want to place your pin on these boards. You can do this manually (which is a lot of work!) Or you can use a handy tool such as Tailwind to schedule your pins on these group boards.
With Canva I also make a few extra Pinterest images (if I hadn’t done that before creating my blog). I use multiple pins for the same blog, with different images and texts.
This not only gives you more visibility for an article, but you also have enough content to post on Pinterest without having to write 5 blogs.
Pinterest is fantastic for bloggers to increase your online visibility and get more blog visitors. As long as you know how you use it and, just like with everything else, if you want results, consistency is important. That means regularly pinning your blogs on Pinterest.
Promote blog on LinkedIn
There are many ways to use LinkedIn to achieve high conversion rates, such as the above but for your company. Here are some tactics you can use to effectively promote your business on LinkedIn
Optimize your LinkedIn Business Page:
On LinkedIn, your business page acts as a hub for your customers. The page contains basic company information, company updates and much more.

Use LinkedIn Groups and Communities:
You now have an idea of how to create quality content. But where do you have to go to find your customers? Simple: go to where they hang out. They are all collected in communities that are focused on specific topics. These communities are called LinkedIn groups.
By participating in groups and participating in discussions, you give your company more visibility. There are more than two million groups on LinkedIn that cover different topics. LinkedIn allows you to join 100 of them, so there is more than enough room to use this.
Promote Blog on Twitter:
Twitter is an excellent social media channel to promote your blog. Most “kids” have switched to WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Snapchat and Twitter is once again the platform for the serious user. Enough opportunities, but how can you best promote a blog on Twitter?
Use hashtags: Twitter was the first platform where hashtags played a role in searching and finding topics. So use relevant keywords with a ‘#’ in front of them in your tweets. It increases your reach and therefore the chance of more interaction. Use two to three per tweet.
Add a link to your blog: Make sure that strong text invites you to click on the link to your blog.
Add a call-to-action: such as ‘retweet is fine’ or the short version ‘RT = fine’. You can therefore directly ask readers to read your blog or follow you.
Share a link to your blog multiple times, but on different days and times and with different texts if possible.
A tweet is on average 18 minutes visible in a timeline. There is a good chance that your followers sometimes miss a tweet. By regularly sharing your latest article in the first place, it still comes to the attention of many people. After that, it is of course also good to regularly share older but still current articles in combination with your recent articles.
Promote Your Blog With Email Marketing:
Of course, you build up an email list. As soon as you have published a new article, you promote this blog via your mailing list. That is the easiest way to alert people to a new blog and get more blog visitors.
The people on your mailing list are the people you can easily stay in touch with. They are interested in what you have to report because otherwise, they will not give their e-mail address.
You can not only alert them to a new article, but you can also inform them about a webinar that you are organizing or a new offer.
They receive unique information that is only for them, but you can also inform them about your latest blog article. Let them know that you have written an interesting article and why it is valuable to them. Or send a summary and let them know where they can read the entire article if they want more information.
The advantage is that they can open your blog directly from their e-mail. So they don’t have to look specifically for it while they come across all kinds of other distractions on social media.
You can also use this moment to interact with your list and tell them why you wrote this article. Stories build relationships because it makes you more human. This allows you to build even stronger connections with the people on your mailing list.
So the next time you publish a blog, don’t wait and hope your blog article will be shared and people will respond spontaneously. To promote your blog! Be active and spread the link to your blog in as many places as possible on the internet so that you create more buzz for your blog. You don’t create that valuable content for anything.
